About this Position

The Benefit and Leave Administrator is responsible for managing leave requests and workplace accommodations including short-term and long-term disability, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Workers' Compensation, paid parental leave and any additional company leave policies. This role will partner with employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Payroll, and our Third-Party Administrator to ensure proper handling of the processes and procedures. Coordinates with Payroll for sick leave adoption and tracking. Assists with the administration of Health and Welfare and 401(k) benefits, including handling escalated employee support, providing compliance support, and organizing wellness events. This is a hybrid position that involves working 2 days onsite in the Duluth, Georgia office and 3 days remotely.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administration of Disability and FMLA leaves
  • Manages the leave management process for FMLA, STD, LTD, Military and Personal leaves of absences to include keeping complete and accurate records in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation best practices and utilizing Workday to track absences.
  • Collaborates and communicates via written and verbal communication with employees and managers regarding their leave of absence options, eligibility, and status throughout the leave process.
  • Acts as a liaison between the employee, manager, HR Business Partner, and Third-Party Administrator to ensure proper handling of the processes and procedures, including approvals and tracking FMLA time available.
  • Processes timesheets and payroll input as it relates to leaves. Works directly with Payroll to ensure LOA employees are paid accurately each pay period.
  • Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates with Payroll on sick leave adoption and tracking
  • Reviews Workplace Accommodation requests with employees, managers and HR Business Partners and recommends reasonable accommodation options in compliance with ADA and other applicable laws and company policies.
Workers' Compensation
  • Processes Workers' Compensation claims and submits injury reports to the WC vendor on a timely basis.
  • Maintains the WC and OSHA logs and completes the annual filings.
Health & Welfare and 401(k) Benefits
  • Assists with administering Health and Welfare benefits for employees, including providing escalated benefits support for employees.
  • Assists with the annual enrollment process including testing vendor sites, communications, and annual benefits fair.
  • Reviews the benefit and 401(k) deductions to ensure accurate payroll processing each pay period
  • Assists with benefit and 401(k) compliance, including annual 5500 filings, audits, communications, amendments, and plan documents
  • Approves and processes tuition reimbursement requests for employees
  • Organizes wellness events including onsite care, yoga, flu shot clinic, and financial wellness webinars
  • Processes benefit Invoices and funding requests
Other
  • Manages retirement recognition and service award process
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Strong In Depth knowledge of Excel, including the ability to efficiently use PivotTables, formulas such as vlookups/xlookups, if statements, etc
  • Excellent Organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a curious mindset
  • Knowledge of STD, LTD and Leaves of Absence
  • Knowledge of FMLA laws
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation Laws
  • Ability to work well with vendors relating to leaves and general benefits
