The Chicago office of SmithGroup is looking for a Marketing Specialist to join our team. SmithGroup is a four-time award recipient of Chicago's Top Workplaces by the Chicago Tribune

Working with us, you will:

Lead award content development for the region. Maintain an award tracking list including deadlines and submission requirements. Collaborate with the project teams to produce award narratives, graphics, and layouts. Coordinate with communication specialists to develop external messaging strategies and plan to support promotion of regional and office projects and people. Support communication team with preparation of assets for communication tactics (e.g., draft social media content, secure images, etc.). Support the regions and offices internal communication needs. Manage logistics of project and staff photography process (e.g., work with project team to develop short list, secure photographers and filing images). Develop and document project stories for use in project sheets, qualifications and proposals. Assist Regional Marketing Manager in management of awards and photography budget, regional events, and development of thought leadership. Assist in writing other marketing collateral, as needed.

An ideal candidate has:

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English or related field. Minimum of five years of related experience required. Experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry preferred. Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram). Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Deltek Vision and Microsoft Teams. The ability to think creatively and strategically. Excellent time management skills to produce and deliver project assignments under strict deadlines. Ability to provide counsel in an informed and confident manner. Outstanding organizational skills; persistent, tactful and enthusiastic. A positive attitude and professional demeanor with a responsive, service-oriented mindset; self-starter, resourceful, detail oriented. The ability to effectively operate within a team environment – readily shares information with colleagues and embraces sharing responsibilities with team members.
