In this role, you will aid senior management in the Office of Budget Planning and Institutional Research, as well as university units and departments, in budgetary and financial matters. You will play a crucial role in developing financial performance measures, forecasting financial performance, and providing critical financial analysis. Key Responsibilities: - Reconcile position budget data in HCM to FM funded amounts. Review all position funding worklist items and determine if approval is warranted. - Produce metrics or reports from various financial, budgeting, human resources, and legacy systems across the institution. - Assist with the operation of the University’s annual development and quarterly confirmation process for operating budgets. - Monitor and maintain the University’s current and long-range forecasting tools for the budget. - Prepare various analyses detailing trends, discrepancies, or amendments to recurring and non-recurring budgets. - Consult with various offices and officers to identify short and long-term funding issues facing the University. - Take a leadership role during various analyses and projects, potentially supervising analysts. - Analyze current year activity in central accounts and collaborate with other central support offices to resolve issues. - Prepare special internal and external reports, analyses, and presentation materials for executive review. - Assist in all University budget presentations as needed. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or management required; 5-8 years in a related field required. - Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; SAP preferred but not required. - Solid understanding of accounting and budgeting principles. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Experience in leadership and working on a team. - Ability to interact with all levels of senior management including Provost, Sr. VP, and President.
