Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer I to join our team in Fairfield, CA Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. What You Will Do
  • Employ advanced techniques such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to drive meaningful process enhancements and cost savings.
  • Conduct capacity analysis and identify improvement initiatives to increase efficiency (OEE).
  • Gather and analyze historical data, forecast future demand, assess available resources, balance capacity and demand, and identify constraints.
  • Participate in Gemba walks, continuous improvement initiatives, and Kaizen events.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization and provide training to cross-functional teams on lean principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, product engineering, program management, and Operations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contractual requirements for accessing information.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Methodologies.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • APICS CPIM Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with iChart tools for forecasting.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 113,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
