About the role

We're hiring a full-time, direct hire Senior Cyber Security Engineer for an onsite position in Northern VA. Summary As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be a vital part of the Cybersecurity Engineering and Red Team, ensuring the cybersecurity of a large enterprise network. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and business stakeholders, acting as a security advisor and leveraging your engineering and security expertise to ensure sound analysis, design, configuration, and monitoring of the network and cloud environment. Key Job Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage security measures and controls to protect systems, infrastructure, data, and security platforms. Lead the Data Security Program, focusing on the deployment, configuration, and management of data security protection technologies and data classification. Serve as a security advisor for various ad-hoc security-related projects driven by business and IT developments. Support security engineering efforts across multiple cybersecurity platforms, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Vulnerability Management. Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. Evaluate and implement new security technologies, tools, and methodologies.

Required Job Qualifications:

5+ years of security engineering experience in a diverse and fast-paced large enterprise environment. Experience with deployment, configuration, and management of various security solutions and platforms such as DLP, CASB, SIEM, EDR, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, or MDM. Experience collaborating with software development teams to support DevSecOps initiatives, including code scanning, secrets scanning, and code reviews. Strong engineering, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively to identify and solve problems. Strong desire to learn new technologies and grow as an engineer and security professional. Commitment to continuous improvement, security process engineering, and operational excellence. Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and emerging trends.

Highly Desired (but not required):

Engineering and technical experience with Microsoft cloud security technologies such as Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Defender, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Cloud, and Microsoft Sentinel. Experience with the design, configuration, and maintenance of web application firewalls (WAF) and networking technologies. Security engineering experience with common cybersecurity platforms and solutions such as SIEM, EDR, and Vulnerability Management. Strong understanding of the DevSecOps pipeline and related security components, such as SAST, DAST, and SCA. Proficiency in multiple scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell. Microsoft Azure certifications such as Microsoft Azure SC-100, SC-200, or SC-300. Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, ISSEP, or ISSAP. Skills
