About the Role: This role is an entry level, hourly role.
The HSES Coordinator reports into the onsite Safety Manager and is responsible for supporting a safe working environment for all employees by implementing and maintaining health and safety standards. This role involves, but is not limited to, conducting safety inspections, monitoring compliance with OSHA & local regulations, upholding security expectations for the facility and promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
What You'll Do:
- Safety Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility to identify potential hazards.
- Document findings and follow up on corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Maintain and update safety policies and procedures to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions focusing on health and safety practices.
- Incident Investigation:
- Respond to and investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans.
- Coordinate emergency drills and ensure all employees are trained on emergency procedures.
- Health and Safety Programs:
- Participate in the development and implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety through regular communication, training, and engagement activities.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare reports and metrics to track safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
- 1-2 years of experience in Safety.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct effective training sessions and presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- This role is an entry level, hourly role.
- Role is based in our Secaucus, New Jersey Fulfillment Center.
- May require working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to address safety concerns or incidents.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
