Director of Business Operations

We are seeking a Director of Business Operations to lead our rapidly growing athletic flooring business, Scout Sport Floors, in our Birmingham, AL office. In this role, you will oversee all operations of the organization, including sales and marketing, preconstruction, and field operations. You will build out a scalable corporate culture and strategy, implement growth plans, drive process improvement, and ensure safety and operational excellence. Get in with the ground floor of this dynamic team and play a pivotal role in providing championship-level facilities to athletes and athletic programs.

The position requires strong initiative, leadership skills, analytical skills, financial planning, and ability to develop and execute strategy at a high level, as well as the following criteria:

Responsibilities:

Oversee sales, marketing, field operations, preconstruction, and project management.
Ensure team members are delivering effective and timely execution of proposals and projects.
Collaborate with the President to develop and implement strategic company growth plans.
Hire and develop your people for the scalability and long-term success of the company.
Oversee and drive financial planning strategy and P&L
Assist sales in developing sales strategy and relationships with new clients, architects, and contractors.
Follow industry trends nationally and locally to develop deep knowledge of the industry.
Occasional travel to trade conferences and project sites in the southeast
Assess project needs, develop project plans, oversee estimates, present solutions, and assist in communicating with the customer through the negotiation process.

Skill and Education Requirements:

Bachelors degree in business, Building Science, Construction Management, or related field or relevant work experience in similar role preferred.
5+ years of experience developing and overseeing financial strategies to ensure the financial health and sustainability of a business.
Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
5+ years managing others or overseeing and developing a team in some capacity.
Ability to learn quickly, specifically project estimating and project workflow details.
Ability to connect and interact with a ride range of personality types.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
High attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Resultsoriented, strategic thinker and champion of change, focused on continuous improvement.
