Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Job Description:
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, and providing support across various HR functions. This role will involve collaborating with management and employees to address HR-related issues, managing recruitment efforts, administering benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support employee relations by addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a fair and timely manner.
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating onboarding for new hires.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, while evaluating cost and service.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, including personnel files, organizational charts, and employee handbooks.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance to managers and employees on performance management processes.
- Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
- Handle employee separations, including conducting exit interviews and managing termination paperwork.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as insurance providers and legal counsel, as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in an HR generalist role, with knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
