Lead Distribution Technician

Works as group lead with other staff and/or work independently in maintenance of meters, meter boxes, meter routes, AMR reporting. May be required to operate various types of maintenance equipment to perform assigned job tasks. Completes required field paperwork. Documents work performed in required log books and/or work order management system.

Manages team’s workload and assists in the daily tasks, also ensures that the team’s work orders are completed in a timely manner and all materials/time are properly documented. Installs and maintains water meters, backflow assemblies and meter boxes. Reads water meters and turns services on and off at customer request or for discontinuance of service due to nonpayment. Responsible for adherence to proper safety standards and procedures. Responsible for maintaining all safety equipment and related records. Additional Duties : In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties. Performs other duties as may be assigned. High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience reading residential and commercial meters or plumbing.

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications

. Must possess and maintain a Florida Driver’s License Must be able to communicate clearly, orally and in writing. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings. Department Specific trainings per position may be required. Performance Expectations Essential Functions Performance Expectations Reads water meters and turns services on and off at customer request or for discontinuance of service due to nonpayment. Must respond within 24 hours to all service requests for turning on or off service to our customers. Completes required field paperwork. Documents work performed in required logbooks and/or work order management system. Work orders must be completed within 48 hours or your assigned tasks. May be required to operate various types of small maintenance equipment to perform assigned job tasks. Must attend at a minimum (2) internal equipment training course annually. Responsible for adherence to proper safety standards and procedures. Responsible for maintaining all safety equipment and related records. You will be required to perform weekly checks on your safety bag and document these checks in your vehicle’s logbook.

You will also be expected to perform monthly logbook checks on your staff to ensure that they are adhering to this policy.
