The float position requires an ability to report to any AFC Urgent Care locations in the Portland Metropolitan area, dependent on operational needs. Education and/or Experience Requirements:A high school diploma or GED requiredGraduates of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job trainingExperience in a medical office setting, 1 year or more required. Location flexibility and reliable transportation are a requirement for the float position.- Northeast Portland (97213)- Cedar Mill (97229)- Tigard (97223)- Oregon City (97045)- Beaverton (97005)- Hillsboro (97123)- Camas (Opening 2024)What We Need: We are currently seeking energetic, driven, and team-oriented Medical Assistants who have superior communication skills, and attention to detail, and who can focus on high-quality patient care. The job entails compassionately assisting our patients and supporting our providers in order to serve our patients with both exceptional and efficient medical care. A sense of urgency while maintaining calm and collection is an important attribute.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: The duties will be performed in accordance with policy and procedure, the standard of care, and in accordance with state certification. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform and assist in nursing procedures under the supervision of an AFC providerComplete full triage and vitalsSkill Sets needed at AFC: Triaging, vaccinations, blood draws, drug screens, set up of EKGsKnowledge of procedures and protocols for occupational medicine and physicalsExperience using EMREnsure up-to-date EMR patient records, and provide instructions as directed by the provider Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as requiredProcess messages from patients and front office staff to AFC providers accordingly Maintain clear documentation of all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)Assisting The Medical Front Office Receptionist with duties such as scheduling and checking in patients and completing insurance verification as needed.All other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager.Exhibit Company Core Values:Commitment - Commitments are clearly made and metHealth - Healthy living for everyone is promoted through sustainable and responsible behaviorsExcellence - Excellence in everything we doCelebrate - Celebrate wins - both small and largeTrust - Trust builds teamwork through vulnerability and respectSafety & Wellbeing:Vaccination Policy: As a healthcare company, AFC believes that the safety and well-being of our staff and patients are a top priority.
