The Health Unit Coordinator is a key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; and collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the "tone" of the unit/shift. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Health Unit Coordinator - 0.01 FTE Variable Required qualifications: * Coursework/Training and Medical terminology course. Or equivalent educ/experience * 1 year of experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program. * Experience with a variety of software applications. Preferred qualifications: * 1 year post high school education. * Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework. Or equivalent educ/experience * Upon hire: National Certification Health Unit Coordinator * Experience as a preceptor/role model. Why Join Providence?
