About this Position

The Field Services Supervisor (Utility Line Maintenance) position consists of highly skilled tasks of a heavy labor and mechanical nature regarding the maintenance of the City's water, wastewater, and street related facilities. This position involves the supervision and management of department personnel, equipment, and facilities.

Additionally, they are responsible for technical, managerial, and administrative functions. They are required to exercise judgment in carrying out work assignments and maintaining machinery and equipment. This position operates on a 7:00-5:00 schedule but is often on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Organize work schedules using Cityworks
  • Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance programs related to water distribution and wastewater collection systems
  • Ensure ODEQ rules and regulations are followed
  • Communicate with the public, other agencies, and other City departments
  • Work with the Assistant Superintendent to administer the Skill Based Pay training program
  • Assist with administrative functions, such as direct purchasing, expenditures, correspondence, and research
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining stock
  • Work with the Assistant Superintendent in completing all performance management activities
  • Ensure compliance with City and department policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Obtain either a class "D" Water Works Operator or Wastewater Works Operator license within 6 months of hire
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of management experience
    • People and/or project management
  • Either Class "B" Operator licenses from ODEQ:
    • (wastewater line) Class "B" Wastewater Works Operator license
    • (water line) Class "B" Water Works Operator license
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid Class "B" Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and/or other required endorsements within six (6) months of employment
  • Driving record acceptable to City's insurance carrier
Necessary Skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability and willingness to travel to local or out-of-town meetings, conferences, or seminars, potentially using personal vehicle during work hours
  • Ability and willingness to be on-call
  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
