Purpose

This is a hybrid position which will help the Corporate Investigators complete investigations by supporting CCTV review as well as working point of sale exception reporting. The position will also help support the Divisional Safety & LP Directors by executing store safety walks. The safety walks will be determined based off current reporting and claims trends.

The position will report directly into the Sr Director, Safety & LP with a dotted line into The Sr Director of LP (Investigations).

Ideally this position will be in the SSC to work CCTV and exception reporting on Monday and Friday, and they will travel stores Tuesday thru Thursday. Subject to change based on the needs of the business which will be at the discretion of the Sr Director, Safety & LP.

  • Safety or Loss Prevention Retail Experience or College degree (Bachelors preferred)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Wicklander Interview Training Preferred
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality concerning projects and assignments
  • Knowledgeable of retail operations
  • Ability to proactively and independently analyze historical data, theft trends and exceptions
  • Problem-solving and team building skills
  • Organizational, delegation and follow-up skills
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel
  • Investigate and detect possible theft trend exposures, both internal and external
  • Review and investigate large cycle count category variances
  • Conduct internal integrity interviews as directed by the Corporate Investigators or Divisional Safety & LP Directors
  • Utilize the remote CCTV viewing platform for the company
  • Review data and analyze POS exception reports to detect theft and behaviors that contribute to shrink; validate exceptions using CCTV
  • Partner with the Corporate Investigators and Divisional Safety & LP Directors as needed to resolve/complete investigations and conduct needed safety store walks
  • Travel to and work with high shrink focus store locations in assigned markets to ensure operational processes are in place and promote safety & Loss Prevention Awareness.
  • Conduct in-person new store safety training.
  • Ensure stores are performing safety SOPs, including validation of daily safety walk process with management team.
  • Promote Heads Up Awareness and similar initiatives.
  • Review all Worker's Comp, General Liability Auto and Property Claims to determine root cause and reduce number of claims being filed.
  • In-store validation of lift equipment procedures.
  • Approximately 70%+ travel required, including overnight air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
Physical/Sensory Requirements

Physical Work - Ability to exert 30 - 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
