Overview:

The business development analyst is responsible for generating business and financial analysis to internal and external Customers for the purpose of supporting the PLS business. This individual will be responsible for understanding various data points and creating client billing modules, price development and application templates, and revenue analysis. The BD Analyst will be able to work independently to create models and within a team environment to meet customer requirements and deadlines. This individual will be able to prepare summary documentation and PowerPoint presentation (as needed) to be presented to PLS leaders. The BD Analyst will assist in developing strategies and tools to be used in evaluating PLS opportunities.

This individual needs to be organized and manage multiple priorities simultaneously and must be able to communicate effectively to PLS senior leadership and internal/external Customers. The position requires occasional travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate and manipulate data provided by internal and external customers and organize into PLS operational pricing and billings models
  • Interact with Finance team to validate business development model and key assumptions related to test mix, pricing, and billing functions
  • Responsible for Price Load functions, Quest Billing System invoice reviews/validation, and price adjustments/credit requests as needed
  • Corporate Price Directives as they relate to PLS clients
  • Prepare analysis for business and financial review related to test mix, pricing, and billing for internal and external customers
  • On-going enhancement/improvement of test mix modeling, and pricing/billing templates. Detailed cross mapping of Client Data to various Quest Billing systems
  • Research current customer concerns and work with PLS and regional team to drive to resolution
  • Meet on-going monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines associated with various PLS pricing and Billing functions, invoice reviews for pricing accuracy


Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in business required and/or 5+ years of experience in finance, billing, and lab industry or related healthcare field with a focus on pricing strategies, billing alignment/resolution, establishing market value, customer satisfaction and driving profitable growth.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • With strong analytical background, this includes a solid grasp of tools (spreadsheet, statistical method for analyzing data)
  • Familiarity with Billing and Financial Systems a plus
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity. He/she must create scenarios of alternative outcomes and make reasonable judgments about the implications of pricing/billing decisions based on limited and imperfect information
  • Strong interpersonal skills. He/she must possess intellectual integrity and personal trustworthiness to the extent that he/she generates trust among directors from multiple functions
  • Organizational Awareness. He/she must gain information for research and analysis from multiple sources within the organization. He/she must know who controls what information and develop communication channels with them
  • Excellent persuasive written and oral communication skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities for multiple customers
  • Ability to interact confidently with all levels of employees including Senior Management
  • Team oriented
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to conclusion
  • Strong PC skills required
