General Description
Will prepare accurate estimates for an increasing number of renovation and new construction projects. They must be thorough and able to manage relationships with clients and other key individuals.

Should have an Engineering background and be able to piece together complex construction drawings .

Essential Job Functions

Understand the project's scope and specific requirements

Determine key variables for cost and other estimates

Gather first-hand information from proposed job sites or other needed locations or sources

Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.

Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting

Obtain and review quotations from subcontractors or vendors

Perform risk assessments and make recommendations

Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.)

Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)

Provide consultation on planning (schedules, Client needs, etc.

Experience and Education

Proven experience as an estimator or similar position

Familiarity with financial and project management principles

In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas

Excellent math and IT ability with an analytical mindset

Proficient in relevant software (Sage, Procore, MS Project)

Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities

Thoroughness and reliability

Excellent organizational skills

BS/BA in engineering, construction science, or a related discipline

Possession of Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification is a plus
