JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Continuous Improvement is responsible for development, implementation, and leadership of continuous improvement programs at the Clearwater, FL manufacturing facility which delivers custom-built equipment. The success of the role will be based upon the influential leadership of the organization’s manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, sales, service, and accounting operations and be responsible for strategically and continuously improving the operation’s safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : This job description represents only the primary areas of responsibility; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Leads continuous improvement efforts of the company to achieve quality objectives, product requirements, and business strategies. Drives lean training and implements a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA, DMAIC, value stream mapping, kaizen, standard work, problem solving and 5S throughout the business. Acts as project manager for the ERP transition and control methods post-implementation. Builds programs to ensure customer requirements are delivered in line with quality, service, and cost objectives including steady and reliable financial performance. Builds and implements a visual scheduling process that integrates sales forecasts, inventory planning and manufacturing capacity. Methodically and continuously improves total cycle times and inventory turns. Develops and implements a company-wide quality program. Provides leadership by promoting team concepts while coaching, mentoring and training colleagues in lean yielding a culture of continuous improvement. Works with colleagues to establish and administer KPIs to ensure customer and company business needs are consistently achieved and provides timely information to executive management team to drive effective business strategies. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE: Microsoft Office Suite, ADP, Sage, D365 ERP is beneficial. Customer and Personal Service (intercultural skills, service minded) — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Economics and accounting- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the analysis and reporting of financial data and effectively responding to variances to expected results. Administration and Management – knowledge of business and management principles involved in P&L management, influential leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources. Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. English Language-Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

SKILL IN: Social Perceptiveness — Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Influential Management of Personnel Resources - Leading, motivating, developing, and training people to advance their work. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
