Prep Cook

Bayview Retirement Community is looking for motivated, hard working professionals to join our amazing food services team.

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of foods, including foods for special dietary needs, such as meat, vegetables, salads, desserts, and soup using various methods of cooking; measures ingredients to ensure use of proper amount in recipe; operates/maintains kitchen equipment used in food preparation including oven, grill, steam table, fryer, deep fryer, slicer, mixer, grater, blender. S/he assures that food served to residents, guests and staff has an appealing appearance, palatable temperature, savory aroma, and delicious taste. S/he ensures that meals are prepared in a timely manner and in adequate quantity.

Requirements:

* Current Washington State Food Handler's Permit & Prior Work Experience in an Assisted Living or healthcare facility preferred.

* Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to teamwork, and enjoy working with a diverse group of people.

* Experience with institutional cooking work involving the preparation of a large volume/variety of food and experience with cooking according to special dietary needs is a definite plus

* Schedule flexibility is desired, permitting occasional availability during holidays, evening and weekend hours
