GENERAL FUNCTION: Perform detailed analysis on the MSR asset including prepayment and default performance and modeling, key risk metrics and detailed valuation attribution. The analyst will have a thorough knowledge of the key assumption inputs that generate the MSR cash flow. The analyst will monitor reasonableness of key valuation assumptions to appropriate benchmarks and identify areas for modeling enhancements. The analyst will provide critical support to MSR Manager in the evaluation of potential MSR portfolio acquisition. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES -Perform or review MSR modeled performance against actual experience and relevant external benchmarks -Provide critical support to head of MSR and MSR Manager in the analysis of MSR portfolios that will be bid on for acquisition. -Calculate and report data to PwC for our peer comparison survey which is used to inform opinions of market value on the MSR asset. -Provide monthly reporting to vendor risk -Responsible for monthly reporting sent to Accounting and Finance - Assist Senior MSR Analyst with internal audits, vendor risk, and external audit. -Works with Mortgage Capital Markets and Market Risk to compile monthly PowerPoint used during the monthly Mortgage Banking Risk Committee -Develop quantitative/analytic models and metrics in support of the Banks risk measurement and performance reporting functions. - Quantify gaps between modeled and actual experience and develop strategies for convergence. - Perform or review regular analysis on MSR valuation attribution and risk metrics. - Maintains documentation supporting MSR valuation and daily and monthly processing procedures. -Develop and implement processes for mark-to-market valuations, market sensitivity measurements and initial pricing/capitalization levels. - Calculates the Gain/Loss from liquidated trades. - Reconciles MSR & Hedge accounts. - Monitors runoff and reports and analyzes by production source, product, Affiliate, investor, etc. - Reconciles monthly servicing data prior to performing MSR valuation. - Communicate results of analysis to key stakeholders including senior leadership. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Mathematics or related discipline with 1-3 years of finance or related experience. Strong communication skills Superior attention to detail and data validation.
