Job Description:
This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.

Primary skill is management of multi-platform applications, knowledge and understanding of mainframe components, Rest APIs and orchestration services, rules engines. Extensive experience in managing multiple dev teams. A person needs to be a quick study, have good communication skills, and have experience working in a data shop.

Looking for an experienced application modernization manager and leader, with extensive team leadership and initiative leadership skills. This person will be required to eventually run a critical data organization, be responsible for management of 4 large teams, and 2 critical AITs. The application is comprised of data stores, data sourcing vehicles (APIs and Files), and batch/ETL processes. We are looking for person experienced in managing a data shop. Understanding of mainframe processes is important. This manager needs to have experience in running a combination of mainframe, and distributed applications and development teams. The new manager will be challenged with quickly gathering SME knowledge, managing a geographically diverse team, and building out and executing to a modernization plan. Good communication and presentation skills are a must, along with good coordination and people skills. This manager needs to start out hands-on in an effort to be able to lead the team and manage the apps. They should be a self-starter. They should demonstrate high level of commitment.

Responsibilities:
  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Distributed API, Datastage and Cobol Mainframe with strong analytical and design skills.
  • Knowledge of Spring, Spring MVC and Spring Batch
  • Strong Core Java Skills
  • Knowledge in building REST web services
  • Basic knowledge in WebServices (JAXRPC or JAXWS) technologies and Development approaches.
  • Basic Knowledge of XML Schema and Processing Technologies (Parsers, JAXB, XSLT etc)
  • Good Understanding of Core Java Patterns and J2EE Design Patterns ( like Adapters, Business Objects, Delegates, Service Locator, Singleton, DAO, DTO).
  • Must have 15+ years of experience.
Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge in Mainframe, Mule APIs, JAVA REST APIs, rules engine like IBM ODM and InRule.
