Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the revenue accounting process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, and providing accurate and timely financial information to support business decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, particularly ASC 606, and experience working in a publicly traded company within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Recognition:
- Manage and perform monthly revenue recognition processes in compliance with ASC 606.
- Analyze and review contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment.
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations related to revenue and deferred revenue accounts.

Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K).
- Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure all revenue-related disclosures are accurate and complete.

Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting and reporting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls over revenue accounting processes to ensure SOX compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and optimize the use of financial systems.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Perform detailed analyses of revenue trends and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as required to support business initiatives and decision-making.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue.

Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Assist in training team members on revenue recognition policies and procedures.
- Lead special projects related to revenue accounting as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.

Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Extensive experience with GAAP, ASC 606, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Experience working in a publicly traded company is required.
- Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
- Proven ability to interpret complex contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and reimbursement models.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
