This role is eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus.Duties/Responsibilities Direct Patient CareTriages patients concerns to determine appropriate care neededPerforms clinical procedures, such as injections, wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion/removal, and administering breathing treatmentsResponds to lifesaving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocolsClinical AdministrationResponds to patient telephone inquiries and provider requests regarding medical concerns, lab results, refills, and referralsProvides provider coverage by determining urgency of pending lab results, diagnostic imaging, and medication refills requestedDocuments patient encounters and care plans in electronic health records systemProvides clinical coaching support and indirect supervision to medical assistantsCompletes ongoing/annual training for position complianceProvides shift coverage at other Neighborhood sites, as directedImmunization Program Support/OversightReviews and compares needed records and abstract data to California Immunization Registry (CAIR), eClinicalWorks (eCW), and patient's immunization records; including identifying when patient immunizations are dueVerifies immunization orders for accuracy, such as correct vaccine, dosage, expiration date, and ageProvides vaccine information statements (VIS) and administers vaccines, as orderedDocuments vaccines administered in CAIR, eCW, and patient vaccine recordsSchedules recall appointments for upcoming due vaccinesEnsures all forms are kept up to date, such as Vis formsCompletes and submits required reports, including vaccines administered, reminder/recall reports, state flu reports, and other reports, as necessaryManages vaccine inventory to maintain accurate inventory, manages supply expiration dates, and rotations of stock to avoid wastePlaces vaccine orders in a timely manner to prevent running out of vaccines or creating an over supplyPerforms routine cleaning standards to maintain refrigerators and freezers for vaccinesConducts proper handling, storage, and management of vaccines in compliance with Vaccines for Children (VFC)/ Vaccines for Adult (VFA) GuidelinesProvides staff immunization trainings in conjunction with medical assistant trainings, as neededProvides periodic vaccine updates, in-services, or information to staff, as neededMonitors and records refrigerator and freezer temperatures at least twice a dayAssists vaccine excursions in alignment to standard protocolsPatient EducationInitiates patient education plan and provides patient education according to their individual needs as prescribed by provider and/or clinic policy, including patient and family instructionsProvide on-going support and continuous assessment for international normalized ratio (INR) patientsEducates and instructs patients regarding lab tests, results, medication functions, and expectations to gain cooperation and allay apprehensionRequirements Skills: Strong critical thinking skills. Use sound judgment and apply nursing assessment techniques efficiently and with confidence. Ability to be flexible with changing priorities and multiple time sensitive deadlines. Use emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and resolve conflicts. Work as part of the team while providing leadership and taking initiative to advance clinic operations. Deliver care while exemplifying compassion to patients and team members. Able to troubleshoot situations based on a strong understanding of nursing skills. Proficient in an electronic health records system and Microsoft Office Suite-Outlook and Word.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Education/Licenses: HS Diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Valid CA Registered Nurse License required. Current CPR/BLS certification required. Valid CA driver's license or out of state driver's license for active military personnel/spouses required. Experience: Two years' clinical, outpatient, or general medicine experience preferred. Neighborhood Healthcare offers a generous benefits package to all full-time, temporary employees which includes: holiday pay, sick pay, comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans, a 403(b)-retirement plan, Life/AD&D coverage, and morePay range: $48.42 - $56.44 per hour, depending on experience.
