POSITION TITLE: Head of Manufacturing POSITION DUTIES: Utilize engineering knowledge to make key technical and process contributions to the new electronic device product development cycle and engineering design review process. Ensure company products meet technical specifications and customers’ and business needs. Manage the engineering development, deployment, and maintenance of custom test equipment. Ensure all aspects of the manufacturing process run efficiently. Mitigate impact of component obsolescence issues. Report key metrics regarding the engineering manufacturing processes. Oversee quality and continuous improvement of tools and methods, including QC/QA processes, Lean Manufacturing (including Kaizen, Six Sigma, Five-S), and cost and productivity improvement. Utilize engineering-related Key Performance Indicators in a low-volume, high-mix environment. Resolve design, quality, and manufacturability issues. Participate as a member of the company’s material review board. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or foreign equivalent degree, and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in an engineering-manufacturing technology company, including 5 years of experience in each of the following: 1. Leading hardware technology device manufacturing operations, facilities, and diverse multidisciplinary teams. 2. Business strategy, goal setting, and communication, business administration, and financial management. 3. People leadership and development, talent acquisition, and performance management. 4. Working with engineering and product/project management to define roadmaps, develop new products, contribute to design reviews, and bring technologies to market for a global customer base. 5. Utilize reliability engineering and DfX (design for manufacturability) concepts and methodologies to create best-in-class products within industry. 6. Industrial engineering, quality management and continuous improvement of tools and methods, including assembly, QA/QC processes, Lean Manufacturing, and cost/productivity improvement methodologies. 7. Work with a variety of engineering disciplines to investigate and resolve design, quality, and manufacturability issues. 8. Development and analysis of Key Performance Indicators in a low-volume, high mix environment. 9. Manage development and execution of strategic supply chain goals including qualification and selection of suppliers and partners, developing relationships, negotiating terms, performance auditing and risk mitigation. 10. Manage safety programs with a high emphasis on manufacturing processes and environments. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position also requires Project Management Professional Certification.
