What you'll do...

As an data scientist III with a focus on machine learning at Sam's Club AI Lab, you will work closely with tech leads and scrum leads to deliver impactful business results through your data science competencies. We rely on your strong motivation to learn and adapt to a variety of tech stacks. In this role, you should be highly analytical with a strong foundation in machine learning theory and practice. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. Your ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate complex concepts will be key to your success in this role.

Sam's Club is our membership warehouse club, a business model that provides our members with high-quality products at prices that are unrivaled by traditional retail. Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. What you'll do:
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes.
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Combine models through ensemble modeling.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.
What you'll bring:
  • Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Python, R, and a familiarity with Scala, Java is also desirable.
  • Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques.
  • A knack for statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Good communication skills to present information to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
