Come Join the Dordt Dining Team

Creative Dining Services located on the Dordt University campus in Sioux Center, IA is looking for a full-time Cook to grill at the Dining Hall. The hours will be 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Our dining team delights in making the best food we can for the students and client to enjoy. Each day is different and exciting. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about cooking and serving people. The Cook works cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
  • Utilize safe food handling techniques at all times
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work area
  • Follow established work rules and regulations; ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
  • Putting away/Pulling stock as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • ServSafe Certification preferred but not required
