Under general supervision, following specific instructions and well-defined procedures, performs a variety of accounting duties

Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring timely posting of daily sales revenue and sales commission using a specialized software package and preparing daily bank deposits.
  • Remote Management of staff in two divisional reporting regions.
  • Prepare and file required California state taxes, license, and compliances.
  • Prepare monthly Journal Entries and Financial Statements and all related work papers and support for the balance sheet and income statements. Management of the monthly close.
  • Maintaining and reconciling the divisional and corporate general ledger, accounts payable sub-ledger, sales ledger, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensuring timely completion of Daily Sales Report, to be transmitted to Division and Corporate management.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting daily of the division's revenues.
  • Supervising the processing and/or processing vendor's invoices (accounts payable) on a timely basis. This includes matching purchase orders to invoices. Entering and posting vendor invoices and addressing vendor disputes and 1099 year-end reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis as needed; monitor cash balances.
  • Manage the billing of construction work and the matching of payments to accounts receivable.
  • Manage and or assist in the processing of payroll and answering payroll inquiries. Maintaining employee files in payroll software.
  • Manage or assist in processing human resource paperwork. Reviewing health insurance bills and employee deductions for accuracy.
  • Manage or assists with the processing of weekly and monthly statements for outstanding A/R accounts.
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly by making customer collection calls to ensure timely collections.
  • Preparing bank deposits and making deposits when applicable.
  • Bank Reconciliation of all bank accounts associated with the locations.
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested divisional management and corporate.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships and acting in a manner most beneficial to the company.
GENERAL
  • Meets corporate standards for attendance and timeliness.
  • Maintains effective working relationships and acts in a manner most beneficial to the company.
  • Assists Division Management in processing human resource paperwork. This includes new hire and separation paperwork, benefit enrollment forms, Workers Compensation claims, etc.
  • Maintain Employee benefits paperwork and employee files.

REQUIREMENTS:

College degree or equivalent work experience

Great Plains Experience

Excellent customer service skills. Excellent communication skills.

Experienced in data input. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products and excellent Excel skills

Ability to multi-task. Ability to follow oral and written instructions
