Our client is looking to fill the role of Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Regional Director, the successful candidate will possess a strong operational accounting background in the oil and gas industry and will utilize their expertise in U.S. GAAP accounting, the full-cycle monthly close cycle, financial planning and analysis and variance analytics to lead functional team responsibilities. The candidate will provide leadership and integrity to the organization's accounting policy and financial reporting on behalf of the executive leadership team for the Oil Field Services (OFS) division. This position requires strong reconciliation and controls-oriented process experience with an understanding of the data flow between various IT systems. The candidate will be a confident facilitator of financial performance results by leveraging a proven history of effectively communicating with both field operations personnel and executive-level management. The candidate will intelligently develop and utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure effectiveness in support of the functional team's contribution to business targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full-cycle operational accounting close, manage the A/R functions, and provide timely financial reporting according to agreed procedures and desk references,
  • Possess a strong understanding of internal controls and the ability to ensure compliance with these controls,
  • Perform general cost and project accounting, as needed,
  • Ensure compliance with the company's balance sheet integrity practice (i.e., periodic balance sheet reconciliations), specifically the inventory, accounts receivable and accrued liability accounts,
  • Create and update pro forma financial statements - indirect statement of cash flow, income statement and balance sheet with presentation in accordance with US GAAP,
  • Manage the regional accounts receivable billing process, ensuring that customers are invoiced in a timely and accurate fashion,
  • Provide oversight and direction to effectively manage accounts receivable aging including disposition of delinquent accounts according to company policy, with a targeted focus of maximizing cash flows,
  • Periodically interact with external auditors to provide operational insights to the OFS order to cash workflow, and to support the annual financial audit cycle by responding to requests from the corporate for PBC schedules and documentation,
  • Liaise with the company's Business Advisory and Assurance Services team to drive process optimization within the operational accounting function (includes upstream and downstream dependencies),
  • Oversee and liaise with field operations vendors to enforce accountability and compliance with the company's P2P policies,
  • Collaborate with corporate team members on the ERP system enhancements and controls (currently PDI Ascend)
  • Provide analysis on segment price, volume and product mix for sales and cost of sales.
  • Oversee and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting process, including full year operating and multi-year strategic plan creation.
  • Lead process and timely completion of monthly performance Report
  • Scrutinizes monthly financial results and performs variance analysis versus plan and prior periods.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Oil & Gas operational accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Master's degree (M.S. or MBA) a plus.
  • CPA a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, with intermediate skills in Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP and other data-mining functions) and Power BI.
  • Strong flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks within stringent time frames while maintaining accuracy.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented with excellent analytical and customer service skills.
