Description

What You'll Do:
  • Policy and Procedure Management:
    • Assist in writing, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive policies, processes, and procedures related to commercial loans.
    • Ensure consistency and accuracy in loan documentation across all locations.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Oversee Commercial Loan Operations through a subordinate manager, ensuring efficient and effective loan processing and servicing.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the commercial loan portfolio's performance.
    • Monitor and report on the performance of commercial loans, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
    • Serve as a central resource for loan assistants, portfolio managers, and lenders regarding audits, reviews, loan closings, and general loan-related inquiries.
    • Act as a liaison between the front line (lenders, loan specialists, portfolio managers) and credit/loan operations to streamline loan closing processes.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Work with all commercial loan support staff to enhance efficiency in processing and servicing loans.
    • Ensure all loan support staff receive adequate training and opportunities for continuous professional development.
    • Conduct periodic training sessions for commercial lending staff on new policies, procedures, and regulatory changes.
    • Assist lending staff in managing past dues and maturities.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the commercial loan administration team.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Lead the request for information and response to examiners and auditors during the regular NCUA and GDBF examines and scheduled audits by third party vendors.
    • Ensure all commercial loan activities comply with relevant NCUA regulations and internal policies.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaboration and Special Projects:
    • Collaborate with the credit team to ensure timely and accurate credit decisions.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of new loan products and services.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners involved in the commercial lending process.
    • Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are available.
    • Lead special projects related to commercial lending operations as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

What You Need To Succeed:
  • Education & Experience Required:
    • BS/BA degree in Business or a related field. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
    • 5 years of experience in Commercial Credit Analysis and/or Commercial Loan Portfolio Management.
  • Knowledge & Skills Required:
    • Advanced knowledge of NCUA regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Proficiency in computer and technology skills, including MS Word and Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
