Associate Underwriters at NAICO learn and gain an understanding of how the commercial insurance underwriting process works. You will provide underwriter support and maintain the accounts assigned to you by issuing policies, processing endorsements, analyzing loss information, reviewing policy data, handling accounting discrepancies, and performing other tasks as assigned. You will communicate directly with agents and provide customer support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Receives workflow for non-renewal, additional information, binding confirmations, policy issuance, regulatory filings, etc.
  • Images all documents, correspondences and various information to correct electronic folders with appropriate names and keeps files organized.
  • Researches and applies appropriate rates, coverages, policy forms.
  • Knowledge and use of resources, e.g. ISO, PAAS, NCCI, IRMI, ODEN
  • Monitors risks for continued acceptability.
  • Assists agents with problems or questions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


EDUCATION:

Graduates who have earned a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Insurance and Risk Management or other related fields. Insurance experience a plus.

SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe and general computer systems. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and clerical skills. Demonstrates integrity, optimism, ambition and strong work ethic. Ability to learn, organize, prioritize, meet goals in a fast paced environment, and communicate effectively.
