Essential Job Functions Generates and Develops Cost Estimates Analyzes plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bids/quotes. Ensures all estimates meet or exceed expectations and regulatory requirements. Computes various cost factors. Prepares budgets for different work disciplines.

Performs Day-to-Day Estimating Tasks Sets up jobs in job costing. Attends pre-bid and pre-construction meetings. Generates purchase orders and subcontractor agreements. Prepares change orders, submittals, and assists with other tasks to support the project team. Tracks and reviews cost history for operational buy-in review meetings.

Develops Beneficial Business Relationships Cultivates good working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and industry personnel. Builds a network of contacts within the community. Fosters positive relationships internally.

Communicates with Internal/External Customers Answers inquiries via phone, email, or in-person. Provides highest levels of customer service. Makes presentations to large and small groups. Translates technical information into easily understood language.

Promotes and Maintains Safe Work Environment Exhibits safe work behaviors. Wears all prescribed PPE as necessary.
