This position is responsible for supporting composite material processes in operations, driving efficiency improvement projects, and leading cost savings initiatives within the North Branch facility. These projects will incorporate continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and creative problem-solving to drive initiatives focused at meeting the long-term strategic goals of the enterprise. This role involves working on a team of process engineers while also collaborating with teams both within and outside of the North Branch facility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Root cause identification and implementing corrective action by utilizing systematic problem-solving techniques to make data driven decisions
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to develop creative solutions to complex extrusion problems
  • Collaberate and interact with other teams (maintenance, operations, etc.) to drive continuous improvement projects within the North Branch facility
  • communicate best practices with other teams in the enterprise to share knowledge and expertise on similar process opportunities


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuing or have obtained a BS degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical engineering preffered)
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and participate in group discussions
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn from hands-on expereicne on the production floor
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to be able to deliver creative and data driven solutions
  • Strong communication skills to be able to articulate projects to multiple different audiences
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mechanical apptitude
  • Process development experience
  • Machine building
  • Understanding of maintenance
  • Computer skills
  • CAD experience is a plus
