Description

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for the receipt and account of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payments for goods and services completed by the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Applies customer payments.
  • Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
  • Processes credit card payments and credits.
  • Makes adjustments to accounts as needed.
  • Maintains daily customer credit applications.
  • Vouchers and Purchase orders.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure terms are met.
  • Communicate status of delinquent accounts to management.
  • Prepare customer statements.
  • Prepare credit and debit memos.
  • Daily communication with Outside Sales Team, Sales Support Team, and Customer Service.
  • Project and report preparation as required.
  • Assist accounting in other administrative functions as needed.
  • Complies with all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs any other duties or projects assigned by the management team.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associate's or bachelor's degree Preferred.
  • Two to three years' experience in full cycle accounts receivables.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications; office systems and record keeping.
  • Good computer skills with ability to use a personal computer and various software packages: Word; Excel; and Outlook.
  • Ability to use web based tools to obtain customer/credit information and post customer credit card payments.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent time management; organizational; negotiating; and listening skills.
  • ability to obtain notary certification required in the first 6 months

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
