Job Overview
APTIM is seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to provide business development, management, and technical oversight of Defense Logistics Agency -- Energy (DLA Energy) projects/programs nationwide. This includes multi-discipline environmental restoration and engineering support services for DLA Energy-managed and/or funded contracts and projects from the initial planning through closure. The goals of the Sr. Project Manager will be to: (1) work with a team of professionals to identify, pursue, and capture contract and project opportunities at DLA Energy-directed and/or funded installations; (2) perform project management duties and responsibilities for awarded projects and contracts; and (3) provide technical oversight of awarded projects and contracts by developing and managing a team of experienced professionals and subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Verbal and written communication with clients, partners and APTIM leadership;
Lead and/or support development of contract proposals;
Management of a multi-discipline technical team to execute awarded projects
Ensure client deliverables are identified and met through effective management of each assigned project component and its associated project staff;
Travel to project sites as needed to monitor activities throughout project lifecycle
Identify and communicate staffing needs to APTIM leadership to resolve needs;
Maintain awareness and ensure successful execution of required client invoicing and associated deadlines;
Coordinate required monitoring and reporting of project financial status to APTIM leadership;
Work alongside project teaming partners (i.e., joint venture or prime/sub) to ensure successful project execution;
Coordinate internal training for project staff as needed to adhere to program or project requirements; and,
Ensure project safety needs and metrics are met.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field from an accredited program.
Licensed Professional Geologist
10+ years of Department of Defense (DOD) relevant project and/or program management experience as a Federal Government employee, with 5+ years of direct DLA Energy experience.
Ability to quickly acquire a working knowledge of program- or project-specific laws, policies, procedures and correspondence
Demonstrated experience in successful cost, schedule and contract management of environmental restoration projects
Experience relaying technical subject matter to large, diverse audiences including Federal Government agencies, regulatory agencies, and general public.
Previous private industry experience in environmental restoration, engineering, and environmental compliance projects
Candidate must be willing to travel to support project needs
Candidate must be a US Citizen to obtain base access necessary to support the projects
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated project/program management experience and skills
Current or former DLA Energy employee
Documented experience managing staff resources, and project budgets greater than $1M in value.
