Work is onsite in Middlefield, OH. Perfect opportunity for someone located in Warren, Youngstown, Cleveland or Akron, OH areas.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in plastic processing (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming and/or vacuum forming technology).

Responsibilities

Support and troubleshoot process equipment, including extrusion, vacuum forming, injection molding, printing, and labeling.

Lead the management, prioritization, and successful completion of projects and programs, varying in size, scope, and duration.

Collaborate with fellow engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to coordinate project activities, ensuring seamless integration with plant floor operations.

Facilitate discussions and investigations into process failures, driving consistency in problem-solving approaches across all facilities.

Assist technicians with assembly and disassembly of process equipment and components for issue diagnosis.

Design and implement continuous improvement plans to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and service levels within the manufacturing environment.

Define test parameters and actively participate in testing, data analysis, and the implementation of innovative processes, equipment, and engineering solutions.

Mentor team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree with a focus on Chemical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering.

3+ years of experience in plastic processing, including injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and/or vacuum forming technology.

Experience analyzing production equipment, processes, and materials and resolving issues.

Knowledge of statistical and quality methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5S, 5 Why, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), DOE, and Root Cause Analysis.

Proficiency in CAD.

Understanding of raw materials, material properties, and their impact on plastic processing.

Practical experience in continuous improvement methodologies, including LEAN and Six Sigma, with a proven ability to drive operational enhancements.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment, coupled with exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
