About the Role:

Under the supervision of Symmetry's accounting staff, the Accounting Intern will gain exposure to accounting activities and accounting software. The intern can expect to learn about daily accounting activities including the Quote-to-Cash cycle (annual customer billings, customer inquiries and collections efforts, as well as cash applications) Accounts Payable (tracking, documenting, and entering payable transactions) and account reconciliations. Additionally, there will be opportunities for special projects that will require analysis and tracking of financial data.

About the Team:

As a member of Symmetry's accounting team, reporting to the Controller, you will have direct impact on Symmetry's ability to deliver our payroll tax tools in pursuit of our vision to touch every American paycheck with accurate withholding and will be a part of the team driving Symmetry's growth.

Here's what you'll do day-to-day:

  • Shadow members of accounting team as they perform accounting functions.
  • Learn to work as part of an accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information and support team, other departments, and Symmetry clients.
  • Aid with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Manage sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous tasks.
Here's what we're looking for:
  • Actively working toward a bachelor's in accounting degree.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP accounting and financial principles.
  • Organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of efficiency and demonstrate a passion for detailed records, researching data, and taking the initiative to validate data and make recommendations based on findings.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $22.12/hr in Scottsdale & most major metro locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Symmetry has a physical office space in Scottsdale. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role).

When approved to work from a location other than the office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
