Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Position is responsible for the overall administration, management and development of the Finance and Accounting functions for the organization. Responsible for all areas of financial management and oversight for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Include equipment knowledge/use)

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent from a four-year college or university.
  • Certified Public Account license (must be able to obtain within 6 months)
  • Minimum ten years of finance and accounting work experience; minimum of 5 of these years must be in a casino/gaming environment.
  • Five years management experience
Broad knowledge of casino internal and accounting controls, policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance.

Must possess excellent (English) written and verbal communications, organizational and analytical skills.

Demonstrated skills and experience providing exemplary Guest Service.

Extensive experience and skills in mathematics, budgeting and financial report analysis.

Leadership skills necessary to mentor, guide and develop subordinate managers, supervisors and line employees.

Ability to interpret extensive technical data to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Effective knowledge of a broad range of computerized systems used in Accounting, Gaming and Hospitality.

Must be able and willing to work beyond the standard work week; including long hours, evenings and weekends, as well as travel for business purposes whenever necessary.

Thorough knowledge of Silver Reef Casino Policy Manual, system of Internal Controls and all applicable Federal, State and Tribal laws and regulations.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

WGSC C-III License

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Creates, develops and implements an effective financial strategy for the organization and supports Executive Management in determining objectives for future growth and expansion.

Ensures the maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

With the approval of the CEO and/or General Manager, creates and executes effective operational strategies for areas assigned to position and ensure accuracy of all paperwork in accordance with all policies.

Interviews, hires, trains, rewards, promotes, coaches, disciplines and terminates employees according to company policies and applicable regulations and laws.

Ensures compliance by all staff members to any and all procedures, policies, regulations and applicable laws.

Maintain confidentiality and chain of command.

Evaluate new products and maintain effective relationships with vendors and external contacts.

Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, attending meetings with the CEO, GM, peers and subordinates.

Responsible for review and timely submission of monthly financial reports prepared in accordance with U.S. accounting standards (i.e., GAAP) and applicable regulatory agencies.

Responsible for supervising, coordinating and maintaining integrity of financial analysis including budgeting, capital expenditures, payroll, daily financial reports and regulatory filings.

In addition to accounting responsibilities, the position is responsible for the management and operation of the Cage and Soft Count departments.

Ensures the quality of operations in all areas of the Accounting, Cage and Soft Count Departments.

Manages and coordinates annual financial audit, internal audits, and various compliance audits, as required.

Performs other duties as requested.

Constantly watching, speaking, hearing, sitting, standing, and walking.

Frequently reading, writing, typing, reaching, bending, stooping, using hands to finger, handling objects, tools or control.

Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mainly indoors, exposure to smoke, noise, odors and possibly unruly patrons/employees.
