Company Overview:

Our client, an established construction firm based in Long Island, New York, specializes in construction management for commercial and mixed-use residential projects across Long Island and the five boroughs of New York City. With a strong track record of delivering high-quality construction projects, they are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to lead the successful completion of a 65,000 sqft industrial warehouse project in Queens, NY.

Position Overview:

As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the out-the-ground construction of new commercial projects, including civil site work and superstructures. Working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, you will ensure the timely and successful execution of the project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional looking to make a significant impact and further their career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all aspects of on-site construction activities for a 65,000 sqft industrial warehouse project in Queens, NY.
  • Client Collaboration: Participate in preconstruction discussions and presentations with clients to ensure project alignment and expectations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Safety and Quality Control: Implement safety protocols and quality control measures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress, scheduling, and budget to ensure timely completion and cost control.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve on-site issues and conflicts, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Team Management: Oversee the work of skilled trades and labor to ensure efficient and high-quality workmanship.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation and records.
  • Reporting: Report project status and updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction, with a strong background in out-the-ground new construction projects.
  • Knowledge of civil site work and superstructures.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Strong leadership skills and a track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
