We are currently seeking a Risk Management Coordinator for our Rye Brook, NY office location in Westchester County. This is an in-office role that will oversee the worker's compensation, general liability, and insurance programs as well as ensure that all subcontractors are prequalified appropriately with the correct insurance qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and obtain all required documents from subcontractors to ensure compliance with Schimenti's prequalification process and provide assistance as needed to complete their registration process
  • Execute a systematic process for subcontractor reviews and work cross-functionally to ensure compliance and flag any deficiencies with internal partners
  • Review and assess pre-qualification submissions for completeness, compliance, and accuracy
  • Maintain and update the pre-qualification database, ensuring all records are current and accurately reflect subcontractor capabilities, qualifications, and remain in good standing with Schimenti
  • Collaborate with the pre-construction and project management teams to identify project requirements and match them with appropriately qualified Subcontractors
  • Assist in maintaining and updating Schimenti's pre-qualification standards in line with industry best practices
  • Provide support to the estimating team during the bid process by collecting and presenting pre-qualification information as required
  • Prepare and present reporting on the pre-qualification process, including status updates, compliance issues, and improvement opportunities
  • Review subcontractor general liability, umbrella, and workman's compensation insurance policies and flag missing endorsements or exclusions to the policies. Coordinate with Schimenti's insurance team to evaluate policies for project specific and general compliance
  • Administer internal claims processing and management of worker's compensation, general liability, property damage, automobile liability, and builder's risk insurance plans. Program administration includes oversight and interaction with internal company counterparts, third party administrators, insurance representatives, and legal counsel as required
  • Prepare monthly claims reports, highlighting any trending data
  • Work with client, owner, and subcontractor representatives to ensure proper placement and coordination of insurance for all projects, insurance policies, and oversee certificate of insurance compliance
Qualifications & Skills
  • At least five years of relevant construction industry experience and/or insurance industry experience required
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, client focus, and comfortable with telephone outreach
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload and tasks across multiple regions & projects.
  • Experience with Trade Tapp and/or risk claims management platforms a plus.
  • Underwriting experience and ability to interpret complex insurance documents a plus.
