Position Overview:

Our P&C Engineers play a crucial role in the development of utility substation Protection and Control (P&C) engineering design packages. This position involves collaboration with senior-level engineering managers and clients, requiring the ability to confidently present technical solutions and respond to concerns in real-time. If you are a motivated individual with a passion for engineering and a desire to take on additional responsibilities, this role offers a pathway to future leadership positions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop physical layouts for protection & control equipment, protection & control logic, elementary, and wiring.
  • Operate specification and procurement of engineered equipment, as well as the development of design scope and cost estimates.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior-level engineering managers and executives of current or prospective clients.
  • Confidently present technical solutions to key customers, responding in real-time to technical concerns and questions with clarity.
  • Participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Ensure adherence to the Companys Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes through customized client checklists on all design packages.
  • Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with developing complete utility substation P&C engineering design packages.
  • Experience with AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications, and bill of materials.
  • Physical design experience in addition to P&C experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments with guidance from the Manager of Engineering and/or Lead Engineer, especially on unusual or complex projects.
  • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.
  • Participate in client meetings / job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
