Job Description

The Yard Operator supports the success of the business operations in a warehouse and a manufacturing yard environment, by packaging, stacking, movement of goods and operation of heavy equipment and various material handling equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Performs functions relating to standard operating of yard equipment including start-up, shutdown, cleaning, inspection, and general maintenance * Assist with operation of bag line, bagging and packaging of different products * Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly * Reports any machine problems as soon as possible * Conducts quality control tests for products in assigned area as instructed * Uses forklifts, skid steers, Cord King, Kiln, Loaders, wood cutting equipment, as required, and instructed * Fills in as shipping operator as needed and instructed. * Assists with general maintenance, cleaning and organizing in various areas during periods of down time as instructed * Ensures all products are stored properly and counted accurately, especially during times of inventory. * Adheres to company safety policies and OSHA standards

Qualifications/Requirements

* Must have good communication skills. * Previous heavy equipment, wood cutting equipment and warehouse experience preferred * Basic math skills required * Must be willing to work in a seasonal and noisy industrial environment. * Must be able to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks for extended periods * Ability to work within a team or in a lone environment with limited supervision * Basic computer skills required

Pay Range:

$18.25 - $20.50

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
