Job Title: Structural Steel Project Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee and manage our structural steel fabrication and erection projects. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in AISC structural steel standards and processes, along with at least 5 years of experience in an Assistant Project Manager (APM) or Project Manager role within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of structural steel projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
  • Coordinate and oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, negotiate contracts, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Supervise and mentor project teams, including Assistant Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Crews, to ensure productivity and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare progress reports, and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with AISC standards, local building codes, and safety regulations throughout all phases of the project.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure work is proceeding according to contract documents and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager role within the structural steel industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of AISC structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
