The

Senior R&D Engineer

will spearhead next-level research projects leading to the development of new Energy Exchange technologies and capabilities to decarbonize the built environment. This position is responsible for developing, conducting and managing the testing of methodologies, equipment, materials, processes, and components. The Senior R&D Engineer must protect RenewAire intellectual property and professionally respect that of other organizations.
RenewAire is leading the industry in Energy Recovery Ventilation solutions and we are poised to greatly increase the impact of healthy and clean indoor air while also making significant steps towards decarbonization.
This position is located just outside of beautiful Madison, WI and is an onsite role.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead teams in the development of new energy exchange technologies to decarbonize the built environment.
As appropriate conduct smaller-scale research related to materials applications in support of other departments.
Investigate competitive technologies, and study peer-reviewed research to develop ideas, materials, methods, processes, and technology.
Develop test plans, execute tests, process data and analyze uncertainty in order to determine next steps, review progress and report out to stakeholders
Design and construct test equipment, prototypes, and laboratory fixtures.
Responsible for designing and operating data acquisition equipment and systems using DasyLab in RenewAires R&D laboratory for measurement of flow, power, temperature, and humidity.
Develop and execute experimental investigations to support specific RenewAire Quick Product Development initiatives
Support transition of R&D initiatives through commercialization
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
BS Engineering or physical sciences, advanced degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of technical experience and Laboratory experience required
Demonstrated project management experience
Knowledge and experience with basic materials science and chemistry, including desiccants and membrane science
Manufacturing experience a plus
Fluency with Design of Experiment methods
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (intermediate to advanced)
Solid understanding of current research methods, technology and trends
Experience with data acquisition and measurement of flow, power, temperature, and humidity a plus
Interest in ASHRAE and UL standards a plus
Experience with programming a plus (for example C++, LabView, DasyLab, etc.)
