Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the conceptual design, review, and stamping, sealing of the drawings before submission to the clients. You will perform a variety of engineering duties to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in Pal Alto, CA.This is open to those who are interested to work for 2 month contract. The salary range for this position, based on the market data is $100k - $120k (range varies depending on experience and qualifications.Key responsibilities:Oversee the project detail design structure before submitting it to clientsWork with the Project Managers or Engineers in identifying the project risk and planning mitigation actionsImplement the best practices, code standards, and use of technology in the execution of designs/deliveryProvide weekly or monthly reports in the form of accurate and detailed reportsPartner with other groups and/or departments to pursue significant opportunities, as well as teaming with the Business Development Group to produce compelling and winning proposalsEnsure that the staff is competent and properly utilized, the undue risk is avoided, and the backlog is built to sustain the operation Maintain awareness of industry trends (such as related technology, and green design), educates staff, and modify practicesUtilize Computer-Aided Design software and other equipment to support project designs and plans, when necessaryLead the staff with a focus on developing talent and providing innovative and effective technical solutions and assure the skills necessary for successful execution are available; ensure the overall development of our professionalDevelop staff to improve skill levels and deliver services and stay abreast of evolving needs in the marketplacePerform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Qualifications to be successful in the role:Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMust be a registered Professional Engineer (PE)Minimum of 8 years experience in electrical engineering designPreferred to have handled government and healthcare projectsAbility to identify process and design improvementsProficient in using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCADq3Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbalMust lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)Why Planate?Planate Management Group is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
