Job Description

Join our team at Regions Hospital as a Laboratory Operations Supervisor. This position serves anatomic pathology, which will include histology, cytology, and pathology support.

This position includes:
  • Maintaining competency on limited benches, hiring, scheduling, daily oversight, coaching, performance reviews, and discipline if needed.
  • Ensures and maintains reliability, integrity, and functionality of laboratory operations on the night shift in collaboration with the Regions lab leadership team. Reports to the Lab Operations Manager.
  • Effectively engages team, communicates effectively, participates in planning, implementing policies, procedures and staffing to ensure uninterrupted quality, personalized care, and services to our patients and colleagues.

This will be a working supervisor position where you will be able to work independently to cover the schedule ensuring that patients' and team members' needs are being met. There can be flexibility within the schedule as long as all duties are being covered appropriately and there is consistent leadership and presence on the night shift and during shift handoffs.

Work schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Day Shift

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in medical lab science, cytotechnology, histotechnology, biology or related field plus specialized training as medical technology.

Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience as a medical laboratory scientist (MT, MLS), cytotechnologist (CT), histotechnologist (HTL) or pathology assistant (PA) in one or more areas of a clinical or hospital laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: Prefer previous leadership experience in laboratory operations in a Health Care environment.
