The Human Resources and Referral Coordinator will assist with employee relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for contract and policy development, investigations, and negotiations. They are also responsible for managing all referrals with all contracted agencies (ENOA, League of Human Dignity, Aging Partners, etc.) as well as teaming with Field Supervisorsto identify and develop relationships with new referral resources to continue the growth of the company.

HR Support

General Responsibilities:

•Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies and procedures; referscomplex matters to Human Resources Manager.

•Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.

•Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassmentallegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs Human Resources Manager when additionalinvestigation is required.

•Assists with recordkeeping and maintaining all personnel files related to hiring, termination, leave,transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action,and diversity initiatives.

•Updates and maintains employee benefits, employment status, and similar records.

•Performs file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained

•Creates and maintains employee identification badges.

•Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, andother labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to Human Resources Manager.

•Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action,collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.

• Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, reports, organizational charts, and employee handbooks.

• Assists with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

RECRUITMENT/JOB PLACEMENT:

• Responsible for managing recruitment efforts for all open positions by coordinating recruitment and job postings.

• Examines job descriptions and qualifications to determine applicant requirements and uses a variety of methods to locate qualified candidates.

• Interview’s applicants, verify references, and compares the job criteria to the applicant’s qualifications.

• Schedules Job Interviews with other individuals, as necessary.

NEW HIRE/TERMINATION

• Orients new employees by providing orientation information packets; reviewing company policies; gathering withholding and other payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs.

• Processes the new hire paperwork and fulfills legal requirements.

• Collects employment and tax information.

• Ensures background and reference checks are completed and appropriately filed

• Performing new hire reporting with the respective state agency by the required time frame.

• Processes employee termination, such as performing exit interviews and advising terminated employees of their right to continuing group health-care and unemployment benefits.

PAYROLL & BENEFITS

• Forwards the respective paperwork to payroll to ensure proper payment.

• Administers workers- compensation insurance and state disability insurance

• Sets up benefit days, such as vacation, sick or personal days, or group health insurance and retirement plans and communicates about them to employees.

Referral Support

• Reviews admission paperwork and coordinates intake of patients.

• Answers and receives inquiry calls and emails from prospective patients.

• Receives, coordinates and follows up with all referrals to include notification of providers for prior authorization and services covered.

• Incorporates knowledge with regard to applicable laws and internal policies regarding the assessment, admission, and referral process.

• Makes appropriate recommendations based on patients’ needs and preferences.

• Ensures that all admissions forms are properly completed and signed

• Enters patient information into the data management system.

• Reviews daily logs and notes from Field Supervisors to ensure continuity of care.

• Collects compliant documents from clients, caregivers, and providers and forwards to appropriate administrative staff.

• Maintains timesheets and all additional documents essential for appropriate billing.

• Communicates information received from physicians, patients or employees about the patient’s care and/or needs to the Branch Manager.

• Takes physician orders by phone, documents orders, notifies appropriate Field Supervisor and adjusts schedules accordingly as indicated.
