The Human Resources Intern will assist the Human Resources department in a variety of tasks, gaining valuable insights and experience in HR operations. This internship is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about human resources and eager to learn in a supportive and professional environment.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of HR documents.
  • Conduct research on HR best practices and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting.
  • Create and manage onboarding schedules for new employees.
  • Prepare and organize new hire orientation materials.
  • Assist new hires with the completion of necessary paperwork and introduction to company systems.
  • Help update and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies.
  • Conduct audits of HR processes and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from employee engagement surveys.
  • Assist in developing and implementing employee recognition programs.
  • Help organize employee engagement activities and events.
  • Assist in conducting employee surveys and collecting feedback.
  • Support the HR team in addressing employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist with data entry and updates in the HRIS.
  • Support the HR team in optimizing the use of the HRIS.
  • Assist in conducting exit interviews and documenting feedback.
  • Help process employee terminations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Assist with offboarding procedures and exit coordination.
  • Participate in various HR projects and initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise any direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience that can transition to an HR related role.
  • Strong interest in a career in human resources.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to a change in deadline or priority.
  • Analytical skills / problem-solving ability
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills a strong plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone use.
  • Speaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contact
  • Requires close-up and computer screen distance vision ability.
  • Requires occasional overnight travel.
