Job Description

Are you a former Sonar Technician that is looking to continuing supporting the US Navy? Our team in Norwich, CT is looking for you

As an Electronics Field Engineer III you will:Receive a robust benefits package that includes our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).Perform system installations, grooms, upgrades, and maintenance on board US Submarines.Provide technical input to the design group as required for the development of new or revised Temporary Alterations, Operational Alterations, and Departure from Specification mechanical and electrical drawings.Work with the design teams to develop and build various test boxes to assist in shipboard testing.Work a wide range of complex submarine equipment and systems.

A week in the life of an Electronics Field Engineer III:Provide direct supervision to project and associated teamAssist in project financial managementAssist in project installation schedulingConstruct, test and document copper and fiber optic cable connectors and back shells in accordance with Mil- STD-2003 & Mil-STD 2042Solve technical problems in accordance with prescribed specifications.Conduct submarine ship checksUse electronic systems drawings to request and order parts for various installations.Conduct laboratory and shipboard work.Construct electronic systems cables in accordance with electrical drawings.Draft Memorandums of Agreement, Work Authorization Forms, System Tagouts and Controlled work packages.Perform installation briefs with Government Sponsor, Senior Ships personnel and Regional Maintenance activities.Test, troubleshoot, install, calibrate, repair, and modify to submarine electronic equipment and systems

Job Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearanceAbility to travel to various US Naval Submarine bases to support shipboard system installations, removals, and provide technical assistance as required. (10% to 20% travel per year)Ability to manage program and supporting personnelAbility to understand submarine sonar signal paths and work with our design team to develop Temporary Alteration Data Packages as requiredResearching parts and materials for various projects

At least 8+ years of experience in:Working with submarine sonar systemsReading and interpreting mechanical and electrical assembly drawingsAssembly work involving use of small hand tools/power tools

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
