Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

- Demonstrated ability to envision web-based services that solve personal and business problems across B2B and consumer markets
- 5-7+ years experience managing web application development
- 2+ years experience with startup companies
- Hands-on experience coding in more than one web application framework
- Familiar with more than one software development methodology
- Solid experience with one or more of the following C, C++, Java, Swift, Node.js and other API related technologies
- Solid experience with web services related standards such as HTTP, REST, SOAP, and OAuth
- Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (such as Backbone, React, Angular, or Ember) and CSS pre-processing frameworks (such as Sass or Less)
- Strong hands-on development skills in HTML5, XHTML, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, JSON
- Experience in Agile development, GitHub, OpenStack, AWS cloud, Google Cloud and DevOps development practices
- Experience working with Hubspot a plus
- Knowledge of web standards.
- Experience with Microsoft and Google technologies, and system support
- Familiarity with tech requirements of Internet marketing and SEO.
- Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management.
- Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments industry compliance requirements.
Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning
- Identify opportunities to deliver companys services, including competitive research, assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success.
- Follow technology trends + social behaviors to drive growth.
- Evaluate + identify appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering the companys services.
- Collaborate to assess + recommend technologies that support organizational needs.

Implementation & Deployment
- Select/setup revision control system/repository (in absence of system admin)
- Select/set up web-based internal communications systems, including project management + bug tracking, (in absence of system admin)
- Collaborate with founder, product team + customers to develop use cases, user stories + specs to implement the companys services as a web application
- Select/manage staff and/or outsourced vendors to design web pages using CSS and XHTML conforming to web standards
- Define the companys software development strategy + methodology
- Select/manage staff and outsourced vendors to implement application(s)
- Establish/supervise QA process, including integration + system testing
- Monitor application performance/review application failures in staging/production
- Establish/monitor web analytics regime to measure site traffic/application usage relative to business goals
- Support marketing process by providing implementation of technical requirements for Internet marketing and search engine optimization

Operational Management
- Define and communicate company values and standards for acquiring or developing systems, equipment, or software within the company
- Ensure technology standards/best practices are maintained across the organization
- Share knowledge, mentor, and educate the organizations investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders with regard to the companys technological vision, opportunities, and challenges
- Ensure technical problems are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop, track and control the development and deployment annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations.
- Supervise recruitment, training, management + retention of development staff in accordance with company hiring process, personnel policies, budget requirements.
