POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Advancement serves as the leader of the Enloe Foundation team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Philanthropy & Communications. Working in tandem with the VP and the Foundation Board of Directors, this position is responsible for managing hospital giving, including development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of a strategic and comprehensive advancement plan, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors. The Director of Advancement supervises all Enloe Foundation staff.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing/Business/Public Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
Five years’ direct experience in major gift development, volunteer management, sales, marketing, or related field.
Desired:
Five years’ experience in healthcare development.

CFRE (Certified Fund-Raising Executive) Certification.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Demonstrated understanding of and experience with methods, practices, and procedures associated with major gift and leadership prospect identification, gift solicitation skills, and staff leadership. Must be a strategic thinker and collaborative team player. Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge) and other computer skills for a variety of management functions. Excellent written and verbal communications abilities are required. The position requires skill in relationship building, solicitation techniques, stewardship skills, overseeing event plans, facilitating multiple activities, and developing consensus among key groups, maintaining strong working relationships with hospital personnel, community members, and all volunteers. This position requires exceptionally strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a portfolio of donors while simultaneously cultivating new prospects. Strategic, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are essential. Position involves strong creative effort to develop relationships in the community that enhance organizational success. Demonstrate leadership ability and professional judgment. Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Health’s core values. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
