Analyst, Category Leadership

The Category Leadership team translates consumer and shopper insights into profitable category strategies, growth platforms and activation. They also customize national category strategies and growth platforms into retailer specific growth activation plans and execution.
This role is responsible for creating and managing customer-specific category management deliverables to Customer Buyers. There is specific emphasis on actionable category and shopper insights that drive the business for both the assigned customers and Smucker Brands. Collects, summarizes, and presents available data in order to provide our category management team with information necessary to support and develop the business.
Location: Rogers, AR
Work Arrangements: Hybrid ~30% in office presence
In this role you will:
Translate and synthesize sales trends and insights into strategic category growth stories and initiatives
- Support Category Leadership Plan and roadmap based on insights and opportunities
- Uncover business opportunities using a category toolkit including, but not limited to- POS/ Retail Link, Syndicated Data, Luminate and Ad/Promotion Review
- Develop and deliver accurate, succinct weekly sales reporting to customer Merchant team
- Support Category team and Merchant with adhoc analytical and administrative support
- Provide unbiased strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to Buyer
- Influence retailer category strategies through account specific Insights
- Participate in uncovering insights that lead to developing merchandising strategies
- Collaborate with the team and retailer to design a cohesive, effective relay execution plan
- Support and influence modular activation of merchandising, assortment, and clustering solutions during annual modular relay(s)

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior analytical sales or category management experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Retail Link/Luminate/Madrid, Walmart/Sam's Club
- Strong syndicated sales data experience (i.e. IRI or Nielsen)
- Shelving software experience (JDA Prospace)
- Tableau or other data visualization experience
