We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries.Position SummaryThe Operations Engineer, while under direct supervision, will support Morgan City, Houston and / or ITC based engineering activities for small to medium criticality projects and/or individual components of larger more complex projects performed with Oceaneering's Offshore Projects Group (OPG). The Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting detailed technical aspects for projects that will be executed predominately in the Gulf of Mexico.Typical work scopes will include but not be limited to IWOCs, RWOCs, ROV tooling, installations, light construction, diving, inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR), and other work scopes as assigned by the Engineering Team Lead / Manager.Some of the Operations Engineer's key responsibilities will include offshore project support, creating and checking drawings, engineering calculations, participating in design reviews, and ensuring that all designs are in accordance with all client and Oceaneering requirements.WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL•Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required.•Position may require some travel including offshore.•Ability to travel offshore up to 50% of the time.Duties & ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL•Responsible for ensuring that engineering work is completed in accordance with Oceaneering policy and processes with a focus on personnel safety and safety for the environment.•Responsible for ensuring that engineering work is completed in accordance with Client requirements.•Ensure products are designed in compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards (ISO, API, ANSI, DNV, and AWS), contract requirements, and related specifications.•Support engineering projects or bids.•Attend internal and external design reviews.•Clearly communicate project status, issues, or concerns with external customers, internal customers, and management. •Create or review concept designs and drawings under direct supervision. •Create or review manufacturing drawings under direct supervision.•Perform technical evaluations of existing designs.•Identify material, coating, and cathodic protection solutions for subsea hardware under direct supervision.•Create or review procedures and specifications for compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards, and Client requirements under direct supervision.•Attend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT).•Perform non-engineering activities such as oversight of offshore operations and on-site oversight of OPG projects and subcontractors.•Work and travel offshore, both domestic and international in support of projects.ADDITIONAL•Interface with customer, other project vendors and installation contractors to identify interface data and ensure resolution of subsea related issues.•Other duties as assigned.QualificationsREQUIRED•Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical) or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. •Valid Driver's License.•Valid passport.•Must be able to obtain:o Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).o Petroleum Education Council (PEC) Basic Training.o Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).DESIRED•Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis, and design for manufacturability. •Knowledge of ROV and/or subsea equipment design and engineering. •Knowledge of basic hydraulic components and the ability to read hydraulic schematics and P&IDs. •Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and ANSYS. •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).•Good communication and presentation skills.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS•Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures, and manuals.•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. •Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.•Gives and receives constructive feedback.•Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.•Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility.Additional InformationThis position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office.
